Q: What is Black Oaks?
A: Black Oaks Savannah welcomes all friends of the night to share with us in our Noir Haven. We are an eclectic group of individuals who enjoy dressing up for the evening, sharing each others energy and having a good time. We welcome all like-minded.

The event will be held at B&B Billiards, Street Level, 411 West Congress St., Savannah GA 31401. The event begins at 10PM and is open to those 21 and over with valid id.

Q: I need directions, how do I get there?
A: Black Oaks Savannah is held in the historic downtown district of Savannah, Georgia. For detailed directions, please click here.

Q. Where should I park?
A. Visit the City of Savannah's website for a list of parking garages and lots available. Click here.

Q: What will happen at Black Oaks Savannah?
A: Doors open typically at 10PM (sometimes 9pm- check the event flyer) and closing at 3AM. There will be a special welcome by the hosts followed by a few short introductions of community leaders and those representatives of community organizations in attendance. SPONSORS INCLUDE: Seppuku Tattoo, Morbid Art and Furniture. FEATURING: A henna artist, a Tarot and Rune reader, DJ Shrapnel.

Q: Who is the resident DJ?
A: DJ SHRAPNEL (Savannah, GA) - After slipping southside from his home town in northern Virginia, Shrapnel has been establishing himself in a variety of formats around Savannah since '96, most notoriously as resident DJ and publicist at Industrial Resurrection and as a cohort of Chris Cook Theme Parties. Generally mixing up a storm of industrial, EBM, and synthpop, he still gets a kick out of new wave, techno, trip hop, and rock, and somehow managed to get voted Savannah's Best Club DJ in 2005 by the readers of Connect Savannah. He's also been lucky enough to spin at Spectral Erosa (Augusta, GA), the Eccentrik Festival (Raleigh, NC), Purgatory (Charlotte, NC), Dracula's Daughter (Durham, NC), Schadenfreude (DC), Symmetry (Columbia, SC), and Bloodfeast 2 (Jacksonville, FL) . Having not yet mastered the zen of making DJ'ing actually pay the rent, Matt spends his days as a theater technician, scenic carpenter, sound designer, and visual artist.

Q: Who about guest Djs?
A: We would love to feature guest DJs from time-to-time. Please contact us for more details.

Q: What about bands?
A: Interested in playing at Black Oaks? Please send us a promo package to the following address: PO Box 61312, Savannah Georgia 31420.

Q: What is the dress code for the evening?
A: We ask that you dress per our themed event. However, we of course encourage Victorian (Edwardian or Gothic), Industrial, Rivethead, Gothic or Vampire aesthetic regardless of time period. Passionate colors in velvets or lace with long sweeping lines, laces, buckles, rivets, platforms or pointy shoes and daring designs are some ideas to incorporate. All Black Minimum implies that you should wear more stylish or scene oriented attire than just casual; this means absolutely no sneakers, no shorts, no blue jeans, and no baseball caps.

Q: Why is there a dress code?
A: Many times Community Event invitations will include a 'dress code' request. Adhering to the dress code demonstrate that you are supportive of the hosts intention and that you have invested some fore-thought in the event. Dress codes should be adhered to, or you may pay extra at the door, discomfit yourself and the host, or not be allowed in at all. Appropriate attire is always expected; everyone will feel more at ease with guests who show the same degree of attention to appearance. Traditionally your attire will be perceived as a reflection of your creativity, social standing and relative success. It is always recommended that when attending social community functions to wear any jewelry that may help identify you as a friend/member of the community or your affiliation.

Q: Will you be enforcing the age policy?
A: Yes, the Door Policy is 21+ with valid ID.

Q. Will there be a cover charge?
A. Yes there will be a cover charge. Currently our covercharge is $10. Cover Charge is subject to change. Please remember to tip your bartenders.

Q: I'll be arriving early, where should I have dinner?
A: There are many lovely restaurants in town, some which are very atmospheric too. You may enjoy the Pirates House (912-233-5757), The Old Pink House (912-232-4286), or The Boar's Head ( 912-651-9660), all located right down town in the historic district. There is also a nice cafe/tea room, The Gallery Espresso, on the corner of Bull and Perry, which is regular meeting spot for us locals and perfect for desert or a light fare. Go to www.savannahmenu.com

Q: I'm coming from out of town. What hotel should I book?
A: We recommend you stay in the historic district if possible. You can also book online at: http://savannah.guide-to-hotels.com

Q: I'll be staying in town for the weekend. Any must see stops?
A: Depending on your interests Savannah has much to offer; you can start at http://www.savcvb.com. We recommend a walk on historic River Street. Any of the carriage rides, historic or garden tours can be both fun and educational.

Q: I am affiliated with a household/family/coven that is based in the Savannah region and we would love to be involved in your next event. What do we have to do?
A: Whether you are part of an established organization or not, if you would like to participate in our future events, simply drop us a line at: bospromotions (at) blackoakssavannah.com Send us your website details, or an introduction and we will definitely keep in touch.

What others are saying about Black Oaks Savannah (other than its a great party!):

Message from JeanLuc and the rest of Veronique Diabolique:

"Libitina,

I have played a fair number of shows in VD, and I've also played out in other bands through the years, and you are one of the nicest, most organized, professional and thoughtful promoters we've ever dealt with.
Merci, merci, merci, merci.

My favorite moment of the whole night was watching you happily great friends and strangers as they approached the club. You pour your heart into your events and it shows. You and your crew did a wonderful job and we are pleased that we were part of it. We had a blast playing the show and also exploring Savannah.

We wish you lots of success and fun with future events and projects!

Bisous,
JeanLuc and the rest of VD

p.s.

Our new favorite Thai place is Kao at 3017 E. Victory Dr. "
